help with comparisons between the revolutionary war and Vietnam?

hey
so i need some help coming up with comparisons between the revolutionary war and the vietnam war.
like the similarities. i have a few but i need some more !

Both wars included unification as an objective. North Vietnam wanted to unite the South, whether the majority of the South wanted it or not. Similarly, the Americans had the same belief about Canada, launching an entire campaign there in 1775.



Another similarity would be of course in combat. The guerrilla tactics used by the Vietcong could be compared to the American militia. While the Continental Army fought the British in a very linear, European format, the militia was known for hit and run and other "ungentlemanly" tactics, especially during Lexington & Concord and later on in the South.

The British were facing a quagmire in America just like we faced in Vietnam. The British people were unhappy with the way the war was going just as the Americans were when we were in Vietnam. The Americans used non traditional fighting styles in the Revolutionary War just as the Viet Cong did in Vietnam.

You could make a lot of good comparisons up until the French pulled out. After that any comparisons are foolish since South Vietnam was an independent and internationally recognized nation with no desire to be ruled by the government of North Vietnam.

In the A.R.W. the colonists were fighting for their freedom from foreign domination, in the Vietnam war, the Vietnamese were fighting for the same thing.
