Question:
Air Force - UAV Fundamentals course after tech school?
2012-12-10 20:14:33 UTC
I've asked this twice already, without a decent answer. People aren't understanding my question. Lol...

So first off, I KNOW that in most cases if training is over 20 weeks or so, it can be accompanied. THAT IS NOT MY QUESTION.

Ok, so my husband is trying to become a sensor operator. What I've gathered so far is that

1.) Hell go to basic.
2.) He will then go to a fundamental course for 4 weeks in lackland.
3. Then he will go to tech school for about one month.
4.) After tech school, he will do a UAV fundamental course with a UAV pilot trainee.

So! My question is: DURING STEP 4 WILL MY SON AND I BE STATIONED WITH HIM? OR WILL IT BE LIKE TECH SCHOOL?

Hello Ashleigh,

Sorry to be so straight forward but, I'm pretty old school.

As I understand, your husband is going into the Air Force. It appears that he has not left for BMT yet.

You have a pretty firm grasp on his training pipeline which is very impressive.

As an "old school" guy, I was wondering why you are posting this question?

Where is your husband? Has he not asked this question to his recruiter? Has he not reached out to someone already performing this job?

He is not restricted from calling the base where the training is being conducted and ask this question.

The risk of asking this type of question in this forum is obvious. You may get the wrong answer!

The recruiters are highly trained professionals that have access to all your questions. I would strongly encourage your husband to press his recruiter for the answers you need. They really do want you and your husband's transition into his career to be a smooth one.

Understood it perfectly....same answer as last time.

Yes, you can go! Any training over 20 weeks can be accompanied if requested. Pretty simple!

But, as I said before.... don't plan on living on base.

ETA: ANY training that is over 20 weeks in one location. If he does 4 weeks, then 3 weeks, then 13 weeks.... no, you can't go with the AF's blessing. But, if step 4 is over 20 weeks, then you may be able to go with the AF paying the tab. You can go to any of the training bases and rent an apt. off base, it's just that the AF will not pick up the tab and his time with you can and will be restricted.

The request - it goes through AETC and it is up to his gaining training command. They will be the ones who decide. If the training commander does not want spouses, then he can deny it. Regardless of what he is doing, there is always a commander who is in charge of each and every Airmen, whether operational or in training.

do not sweat it to a lot. fundamentals of electronics isn't that not problem-free. Block 5 is the hardest type with the utmost failure price. round 20% fail block 5 the first time. you're genuinely taught digital circuit fundamentals. Voltage, resistance, amperage, capacitance, inductance, etc. It become once a 9 block route. Blocks are set academic sessions that very last from per week to each and each week to 2 weeks, you're examined on the precise of each block. Blocks a million-4 aren't to any extent further to undesirable, you would possibly want to study round 2 hours a nighttime. Block 5 is a killer, you would possibly want to study round 4 hours each nighttime. Blocks 6 - 9 are not undesirable. don't worry, there'll be different scholars ahead of you, who might want to really help you already comprehend issues , you won't be able to figure out. In my college, they even had study sessions with the instructors after the pastime day, in case you fairly mandatory further help.
