Question:
Why does Britain have low respect for the US Military?

Most threads I read about which Spec Ops are superior (just want to know everyone's opinion), and the British are disrespectful and rude while Americans are the ones giving their honest opinions and being humble about it. I haven't read one thread yet that an American was being a dick. I am an American, and give my vote if it were SBS VS SEALS, or the SAS VS Delta Force. They're slightly better in training and all round. But if it's DEVGRU VS SAS/SBS. DEVGRU would have the upper hand in my opinion. But I don't bash the British and say the SAS/SBS suck dick and are ******* like some British talk about SEALs and Delta. And they say Americans are the rude ones LOL. Although there are some respectful Brits out there. Kind of a weird question but thanks for your input.

Have you ever seen Britons respect anyone who was not British? Look how they talk about the French and Eastern European countrymen.

It is part ignorance, part arrogance, and lots of jealousy.

To be honest, it's not a comparison that's easy to make. The SAS is a very small group of intelligent and highly trained specialists, who are regularly deployed and all have a weath of experiance. Same with the SBS, they both train the US forces, and are seen as the senior special ops forces in the world. It's rare to find a US operative with the same experiance, as there are more of them they tend to have less operational experiance as individuals.

When it comes down to it, all of the groups contain highly skilled and motivated individuals.

There is nothing more useless than a thread about "which special ops are superior". Not only is it a meaningless and pointless question but the only people who are going to reply are 15 year-old gamer fan-boys.

Nobody who actually knows anything could be bothered to reply to such a thing.

It doesn't. You're making stuff up for some reason.

To be fair the disrespect goes both ways, you might have heard or read "you'd be talking german if it wasn't for us", or "saved your asses in ww2", etc etc

Frankly I don't care about special forces, what I do find annoying is how easily the American commanders find killing British soldiers and airmen, and then the total disrespect that they never give any details or facts to find out why the mistake was made.

In one case, the pilot was promoted after killing a british serviceman !!

Their investment isn't as undesirable as human beings think of; USMC and USN acquisitions are often separate line products interior the protection funds (Congress LOVES the USMC, easily), and it truly is not as though the DoN places of work that draw up budgets artwork finished time on the army and then fill interior the Marine budgets on the sluggish days-separate places of work working at the same time to do the two. i've got been instructed that the USMC sucks at acquisitions (show A: the EFV. show B: the M/V-22), yet that would not advise they do no longer look to be respected via "US military suitable brasses", whoever it fairly is (like the Commandant, i'm guessing?). as a techniques because of the fact the older kit is going, it truly is greater a element to the Marine Corps mantra. they don't have faith interior the would desire to have truly advantageous, new kit (a minimum of once you circulate to the guy point)-they'll get via on what they have. it truly is not the kit that concerns as plenty because of the fact the Marine working it, in different words. "Why is that, while the marine corps of different international places like britain's RMC and netherland MC are geared up and funded on par with a particular operation unit (they are easily area of the rustic's specific operation forces)" nicely, because of the fact they are specific Forces...and the USMC isn't.

Only the ignorant are of that opinion, Nationalism and the accompanying whinging is prevalent in every country.

Bull sh+t questions like S.B.S. v. SEALS etc.. etc.. are idiotic and childish as its very rare for two opposing Special Forces to come into contact with one another, and even if they were to "get it on" the details would be kept classified for years.

Search harder young grasshopper there are many cases of Americans being just as big a ***** as British, but Nationalism tends to cloud ones sight.

When it comes to the US military, it's: Lots of people, cash, equipment but absolutely no idea.

Just to emphasize ... All the gear & no idea

In addition: The US military can be split into 2 categories - The Marines and The Rest. Both categories are taught to throw as much lead as possible downrange but at least the Marines occasionally check their targets (targets can still be friendly forces, each other or women and children though!).

USMC: A group of high school dropouts that desperately wants to be like the infantry. Organization and organic weapon systems suited for a shock force only; the US Marine Corps is commonly used as a conventional infantry force and subsequently manages to take more casualties than their infantry counterparts. Marines are too arrogant to be called "soldiers" and too stupid to take cover when a fire-fight starts.

US Marines were accused of several hundred atrocities during the war in Vietnam, details of most are still kept under lock and key. This pattern appears to be repeating in Iraq as these assault minded infantry are used for policing. They seem ill-suited to the task (of being a target for snipers and roadside bombs) their shaved ape president demands of them.

While on leave/civvy street/out in town, US Marines (usually in big groups) hang around public places in thier parade uniforms sometimes topped off with tinted aviator shades to add the glamour deliberatly approach giggling females in An Officer and a Gentleman/Top Gun bar scene fashion.

On the bright side, at least it sorts out the fuckwits so the US Army doesn't have to.

Not to be confused with the far superior, more professional and tremendously more sexually deviant Royal Marines, of course.

As for special forces; not nearly enough is known about any of them to start comparing them like pokemon cards.

The British have thought they were superior to everyone since the Spanish Armada. It's nothing new. The special forces thing is just the latest manifestation of it. It's just part of being British.

I believe you are generalising. I have seen criticisms going both ways. Some Americans have written truly insulting comments, or argue that their country's forces are the best simply because they are American. Sometimes they invite attacks by making ridiculous statements about historical events. Some British (or at least non-American) posters have been very critical of American forces. Americans can be as rude as anyone.

From what I've seen. The SAS are a elite fighting force and are respected all over the world.

I would put them over any american special force group, I've watched documentaries and seen the training for american special service troops, and in my opinion their intelligence more than anything was limited.

But mostly, the reason most Brits dislike the americans is because Tony Blare Bum licked the US and got us into alot of war. Where you went we went.

In addition to that, the fact that you americans kill half the british military through friendly fire!

And to any american citizen who argues we have a grudge over the americans for their freedom, that's a load of bull ****. In fact, call us brits naive but on average, we know or want to know **** all about american history, because it doesn't concern us!

FYI I totally agree with anyone who says its childish to compare elite forces.

Because we whipped their butts in the American revolutionary war and stopped them from taxing us. Dam those Red Coats!
