I realize this is a long shot but thought I would try.

A soldier owed me some money so bank transfered it from his armed forces bank account (which is based in harrogate uk as he's at menwith hill) to my uk bank account.

He accidentally got 1 digit of my uk account number wrong and the money has now been sent to someone else (we don't know who)

Does anyone know how we can get this money back?

There is no such thing as an armed forces bank

B.S story.,

if your story is anyway true the "soldier" can get the details via his bank.

FULL Transaction details are always shown on BANK STATEMENTS

While he might have got 1 account number digit wrong,

the account holder name was NOT the same as yours or the Bank Sort code.

He is jerking your chain, he never made any attempt to pay you.

And reported for NO military connection.

Despite it being called "Armed forces Bank", this is not really a military theme question at all.

That said: what do you mean you don't know who? His bank can tell you what account number they sent it to. He then goes to his bank and starts the recovery process with however his bank and yours does this sort of thing.

However - the bottom line is that if it is his error, he still owes you the money and needs to pay you. I don;t really see that you need to do anything at all. He still owes you!

He will have an account with a normal UK bank like HSBC, all he

has to do is notify them but you sure he is telling you the truth

he has to call or go by the bank and explain what happen, it's his account and the bank should rectify it but he has to do it and make sure he has to correct account number when he goes into the bank or calls them
