Is it alright to admire the Insurgents?

One must admire the ones who are the weakest but are putting up a fight against the most powerful. Right? The insurgents are a rag tag group of men but they are kicking the butts of the USA military day in and day out. That is amazing!! I admire that. We ( The USA ) are so powerful but yet are no match for a bunch of men who want to protect their country from the Americans. I say "Bravo to the Insurgents". They are amazing. And the best part? We will soon be friends with the insurgents. Just look at South Vietnam. We lost in Vietnam but now we get along with the Vietnam Government. We will also become friends with the insurgents sometime in the next 10 years. Mark my word!!

Mahatma Gandhi was probably an insurgents for Englad, Martin Luther King probably insurgent for while people in america, Che Guevara probably insurgent for America - but they were heros of their own countries...eventually a legend after 50/60 years....

Depends on why you are admiring them? Your reasons above arent enough because that means you are willing to overlook the many evils they themselves have committed. And why are you so hoping that the USA will be defeated and much more that the same mo'fos who behead people, kill Iraqi innocents and ordinary Iraqi workers are the ones who will win? You could at least hope that someone who is more sane than these guys will win in the end (and no that wont happen so long as the insurgents are alive)?



Oh...and whats with the USA's butts being kicked day in and out? I havent seen any field battles between the USA and these guys. Only bomb explosions (which again have done nothing but kill innocent Iraqis and a poor Yank every now and then who happens to be in the wrong place and time).



In case you've forgotten one of my answers to your questions...stop insulting the Vietnamese by comparing them to these bastards. Vietnam has reformed itself and has proved willing to reconcile with the USA. These scumbags will not reconcile with the USA because they will not reform...they will not stop until they have established their Evil Islamic Empire in this world. Mark my word on this!!!

The people we are fighting in Iraq are not insurgents. Insurgents are citizens of a nation who fight a government that they feel is illegitimate (think Nepal). What we are facing in Iraq is a resistence to an outside occupying power (think France 1940-1945).



But to admire either the American occupyer or the Iraqi resistence brings into questions of morality. Does either side have the right to kill to achieve their goals regardless of how "noble" that goal is presented as being? Means to an end and all that.

No, admiration is not in order for the insurgents. I cannot admire people that don't put a value on human life. The insurgents are fighting against an outside force (Americans) but they are also killing innocent civilians for their cause. They don't care about their fellow countrymen and women. They will kill them just as quickly as they would a U.S. soldier if they don't agree with them. If you think that we will be friends with these insurgents, I would like to see you go and try to be friendly with them. Mark my words......you will be the next person that our military will be trying to find before you are beheaded. These insurgents are murderers......plain and simple. No admiration, no respect, no mercy for them.

The guys whom you call a 'bunch of men who want to protect their country ' actually are not Iraqi's in the first place.They come from other countries in the middle east and Africa. The local Iraqi's are a small minority among these forign insurgents.

I really think you cant compare the Vietnamese to these Islamic fundamentalists.Going by your theory,are you suggesting that America is going to make friends with Osama Bin Laden too.These so called insurgents that u are talking about see him as their hero and Osama too supports these insurgents.

No. You should feel sorry for them. They have been brainwashed. They have no girlfriends, wives, homes, kids, just run around waving guns. Losers, sticking together to bolster each other up.



The only reason they seem to be "kicking butt of the Armed Forces" is because our men and women are doing everything they can to protect innocent life. The insurgents don't care who they kill and are proud to have one of their children become a homicide bomber. What kind of person would want their child to blow himself up? You admire that?

In my opinion, no people wants its country being occupied by foreign forces, no matter they call themselves "friends" or whatever. Throughout the history of occupations always have been groups of partisans fighting against invaders. In the case of Iraq, that is what I guess your question aims, they are called terrorists and that definition will last for long time. So any group of people that attempts against the economical interests of the groups of power of the US or Israel will fit under this denomination.
