Question:
JOINING THE MILITARY?

hey my name is adam, a 17 year old male from Lebanon (beirut), since i was 12 i dreamed of joining the army, but non of my family or relatives were ever enlisted. I would like to join the special forces and I know a friend of mine who did, but it doesn't pay that much and it couldn't support a family 9 REMEMBER I AM TALKING ABOUT LEBANON NOT THE US)
I am both physically and mentally fit I really believe that I can join the special forces, I have been training (running, pushups, dumbles, setups) and can make 50 consecutive pushupps (aiming for 80) and 100 consecutive set ups. Yeah I am in shape.

What's on my mind that I could also join as an officer, which offers a better lifestyle and rank. But unfortunatly in Lebanon you need to have really strong connections to get accepted which I don't.
Anyways as soon as I finish highschool ( 1 year left YAAAY!!!!) I'm gonna apply and if I don't get accepted I am hoping to join the special force ( knowing that I don't care about the "crappy" salary).

OK THIS IS MY LIFE PLAN THE ONLY PROBLEM IS MY PARENTS REALLY WANT ME TO GO TO COLLEGE BUT IT'S MY LIFE AS I SAID. SO WHAT'S YOUR OPPINION?? IS IT A GOOD ONE??

I would suggest checking out UltimateBasicTraining.com, they have a book called The Ultimate Basic Training Guidebook which is a fun interesting read that will tell you, and your parents, what basic is like. You can do the greeen to gold program which will allow you to go to college and the military without sacrificing either.
