Hello. I am in the national guard, and when I was in the office of RSP speaking with my new sarg, he mentiones something about the guard paying me 500 a month while I am in boot camp and AIT because I have an apartment lease. Does anyone know the details of this? Thank you

while you are at training you are in an active duty status. there for qualify for BAH. full or part depending on if you are married or have kids kind of thing.

the BAH rate differs depending on your zip code. you will do all the paperwork a BCT,,,

and call him your NCO. not sarg,
what?

You'll get BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) while in an Active status.

The amount of BAH you get depends on where you live (ZIP Code), your Rank, and whether or not you have dependents.

http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/perdiem/bah.html

This calculator will tell you how much per month you should be getting (assuming you qualify for the full month's rate, anyway - I don't know the rules on that, as far as the National Guard is concerned).

It's also worth noting that BAH is also 100% tax free, because it is classified as an "allowance" rather than "pay."

Okay, are you married have children, how many, what type of housing are you living in now. They give you a paycheck you can live anyplace you want. You might have to maintain a place in the barracks for show. Good luck.
