Question:
What would you do if you suddenly met Jane Fonda (Hanoi Jane) on the streets?

Personally, I think she's a treasonous Whore who deserves to be stripped of her American Citizenship and jailed for treason after what she did in Hanoi. I'd spit in her face.

Tell her what I think about anti-gun liberal harlets like her. I wouldn't be surprised in she gets beat. Ship her anti-American butt to Antarctica.

Section. 3. Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

I would tell her she walks the streets because many many people died for her to do so. In much of the world she would have been shot or imprisoned. Then I would wish her a good day.

first of all - "Tina"? yeah right. i'm gonna call you Earl instead, ok? actually, maybe Hank.

well, Hank, if i met jane fonda on the street i would probably tell her that barbarella was awesome and one of my favorite movies.

then i'd say it's too bad that she's been vilified for posing for photos with an NVA anti-aircraft crew in hanoi. especially since she's apologized, called it careless and thoughtless and said that she regrets doing it, and that she never meant to hurt any of the GIs, or to imply that she was helping the north vietnamese.

i'd say that speaking out against your government when it does something terribly wrong is not treason, but in fact an ideal that the very country is founded on. indeed, it was the ostensible motivation for the war in vietnam at all.

i'd remind her that treason is is defined as "a citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]," and that posing for a photograph hardly meets those requirements. neither does speaking out against a war that you oppose, nor does traveling to north vietnam to see for yourself whether your govenment has lied to you.

then i'd help this 68-year-old christian grandmother clean the spit off her face and tell her that Hank over there is a sexually-frustrated white male who can't handle seeing a sex object turn from the submissive image of 1950s woman into a strong, outspoken and de-sexualized feminist voice. i'd say that she should be proud of speaking out against something she thought was wrong.

i'd say that when they call you "whore" it's because they were once so keyed-in to the fantasy of fonda as half-naked sex nymph barbarella, they feel betrayed when she changes into a whole person with a voice who says things they don't like, instead of remaining a two-dimensional voiceless pin-up girl.

then i'd ask for her autograph, cos ya know, barbarella was frickin' hot, and tell her that her dad was an awesome actor and that she should make better movies than mother-in-law.

then i'd say bye.

bye, Hank.

EDIT: here is some additional information regarding the myth of jane fonda and the POW notes.

to the libs, dissent is some how patriotic. patriotism has nothing to do with dissent. its only a right. when your form of dissent puts Americans in harms way, its treason pure as the wind driven snow. i wouldn't even waste the energy to spit at the bi ch! you cant support the troops without supporting the mission, and she supported neither.

Personally, I think she is more deserving of the Medal of Freedom that those who are receiving it during this administration.

While many did not approve of her methods, you forget she was right in her assessment of our presence in Vietnam. I'd say "Hi, thanks for speaking out when most of us were blindly following our blind leaders."

She followed the founding fathers', George Washington's and Ike's admonitions to question authority, especially when the military is involved.

Perhaps earlier protests are why we didn't take so long to question and object this time.

If i saw her from a distance on a street, I'd take run and tackle her. THEN I'd spit in her face. She doesn't deserve to live in a free country.

Spit in her face the way my brother got spat on when he walked off the plane. I can't stand how I feel about that traitor.

Ask her if she thinks Vietnam is better off now than say South Korea (where we stayed and won) and if she'd like to have a ONE WAY ticket to Vietnam so that she can see for herself (and stay there).

Ignore her. She's a **** for what she did. Hanoi Jane is not worth my time. She should have been tried for treason, and exiled...or spit on...something...

Thank her for doing what she thought was right. It was a long time ago. What is going on right now in Iraq is far mor dangerous then what she did.
