Get any guarantees in writing, whether for graduating basic with E-2 or E-3, or for an A-school. If it isn't in writing, it isn't guaranteed.
Don't ask what ship or station you'll go to - if the recruiter tries to tell you anything along those lines, he's blowing smoke.
Find out about when you will graduate basic training, the date (depends on when you start, but add 9 weeks to your start date and you can figure it out yourself). You will not, ordinarily, receive leave after basic. You will either go straight to apprentice training (3 1/2 weeks) or to your A-school.
Welcome aboard!

I'm a navy recruiter in Cleveland Ohio. Even though I don't know your circumstance ie. age, asvab score, college, etc its kind of hard to answer the question but I do want to tell you is that the only thing a recruiter can guarantee you is pretty much nothing.
The recruiter can't guarantee you a certain job cause you won't find out until you go to MEPS and take your physical and talk to the job classifier. You can sign every piece of paper in the office and you still won't be in so don't worry about "signing anything". You will go to MEPS and if you are happy about your job and your ship out date, then you will sign your contract and raise your right hand to swear in.
The recruiter can't guarantee you where you will be stationed after school. You will go to boot camp, then school then come home for two weeks. If you need any additional info or have any questions to see if your recruiter was telling you the truth email me at d_underwood@yahoo.com

I would make a list of your questions so you won't miss out on anything. You will probably get brochures, BUT don't make any commitments until you take a breather and review the information provided to you. You may want to also ask someone you know personally what it is like to be in the service, and if the Navy is a good choice. Good Luck:)

Ask your recruiter what your choices are if the Navy can't get you into the career you want.
Ask about the G.I. Bill, tuition assistance, not picking up your soap in the communal shower... anything.

you do not would desire to go with a job. i don't care what each and every physique right here says. you do not would desire to. in case you think of your recruiter is putting stress on you purely wait till the classifier gets a carry of you. The classifier can purely grant you what is attainable, not each and every thing you're qualified for. there is great stress on the classifier to "close the deal" with the intention to communicate. pay attention, in case you do in comparison to what the classifier delivers then upward thrust up and walk away. you could continuously bypass decrease back to MEPS back. i did not enlist till the 4th time I went decrease back. I have been given a job they swore does not be attainable the 1st thrice I went in. additionally, it was once to your benefit to bypass to MEPS as near to the 1st of the month as a threat. The classifiers used to get new requisitions on the 1st of each and each month. i don't understand if it is nevertheless that way or not.

The biggest question you should ask, of ANY recruiter is: Will you put that in writing?

why are you asking us for questions. then your really not getting the answers YOU want. ask him whatever is on your mind. its the only way you'll be completely satisfied and know that it is what you want to do, or not do. he does not care what you ask him. he gets paid pretty well to sit there and answer all your questions. so don't feel pressured. good luck
