The pay for all enlisted soldiers, or whatever you're called in your individual branch of the military, is the same. an E-1 is an E-1 is an E-1 in an E-1. Now, the Army has the fastest promotion schedule, and biggest enlistment bonuses. But don't join a service just for the money... you'll have to live with your decision far after you've spent it all.

Pay for all military services Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force is based on your rank/pay grade and is the same base pay for all. Overseas, combat, Family Separations, Separate Rations are the same also. The only difference could be if you are going into a Specialty Pay/Proficiency Pay job in one service and the other service did not pay it. Those pays are controlled by the service and since each has different needs and different shortages those would vary, with those pays they also change year to year in the service so you might not get it one year and then get it the next or vice versa. Uniforms are issued free in the Marines for enlisted as in all other services, if uniforms change you may have to pay for that but again the same is true is in all services; you get a clothing allowance and if careful and take care of your uniforms can use that for replacement or changes as none of the services provide free replacement uniforms. Hazardous Duty/Combat pay is also set by Congress and the same for all services.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have joined the AIR National Guard in a state that will pay 100% of your college tuition via tuition reimbursement. Minnesota and North Dakota both do as well as a few other states. In addition to 100% tuition reimbursement, they also give you the GI Bill, about $250 when I was in, and the GI Bill Kicker, an additional $350 when I was in. That is $600 in addition to your monthly pay just for one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer and best of all your go to school for free. Of course the risk of being deployed is high, but you're already prepared for that if you are looking into active duty.

The pay is the same between all the services, just be warned that in the Marines you have to buy your uniforms whereas the army givies you it for free. I have friends in the Marines who complain about being poor because of having to buy their uniforms. Also the army when you go to pick what mos you want it is guarenteed. The marines just place you where ever they need you. The army also gives better bonuses.

Good luck!

Well, Obviously everyone get paid the same in all branches through the pay grade system. The only thing I can add is as a marine you will probaly get more hazard pay.. therefore making more money :)

If you wanna be the best of the best, join the Marines. If you want it a little easier, then join the wussy Army. Anyone can be a soldier, but only a few can make it as a Marine.

All branches pay all paygrades the same the other. The only difference would be if you are getting any special pays like the Navy has nuke pay, submarine pay, sea pay, recruiter pay....... All special pays that not everyone will receive.

The pay is the same for all branches of the military. It is based on rank/years of service.

They pay the same. Pay is based on rank and time in, and also what units you serve. If you are in aviation, you may qualify for flight pay, if an airborne unit, you may get jump pay, etc.
