I was army reserves and I made e4 before I went active duty I have les for reserves that says e4 an active duty les that shows e4 now in the last few months I've been getting paid as an e3 again I have no flags pass all my pt test with a 278 or above I went to my s1 and they said its cause I went from reserves to active so it doesn't count, and my 1sg says the same should I say screw it and just go
to jag? plus I've ben in the military since I was 23 in 2010 and I have valid promotion orders to spc from my old reserve unit.

what does your enlistment contract for active duty say

that's all that counts

just having a rank in the reserves, doesn't mean it automatically carries over to active duty

so on your enlistment contract, it says what rank you enlisted as -- same as it does for new recruits

if it says E-4, then you should be an E-4, if it says E-3, then your an E-3

Did you enlist in the active Army? Then you were discharged from the Army Reserves. The active Army enlisted you at some rank, what does your contract say?

If you were mobilized from the Army Reserves, you probably should be an E-4.

Which is it?

I went from active duty to reserves and kept my rank. I was always told you lose a rank if you go the other way.

You generally lose at least one rank depending on how long you held that rank when going from the Reserves to AD. This is due to the fact that the promotion system is different and as a Reservist, YOU do not have the experience an AD soldier does to be a SPC.

What the others say - you loose a stripe when you go from USAR to RA.

That said, with your inability to use the English language, how do you expect to ever make Sergeant?

Demotions when changing from reserve to active are common, it's possible it just took it a whole to catch up
