Question:
War against terrorism?
2010-01-13 18:51:36 UTC
If we (the United States) had a great leader like Adolf Hitler, do you think that the war on terrorism and Iraq would have been over years ago?
What are your thoughts about this?
Because I feel like we are a little "soft" when it comes to war, and I'm not saying that our military is
weak. I just feel like that we're kinda holding back.

What I mean is we do have the most sophisticated technology on warfare and a superior military power. We could send half a million troops in the Middle East and wipe off Al Qaeda and Taliban
or any other groups that is a threat on the face of this planet if we wanted to.

I'm just exaggerating about the numbers
and please lets not talk about the Holocaust.

Things needed for success in the Middle East: US peoples support, Middle East's people support, Middle East country's support, A real Afghan military (not the joke of one they have now), the lack of a Geneva Convention, no Islamic religion for them to die for, and no civil wars in the Middle East. We have none of those.

Also note: Hitler (no matter your opinions of his person outside of politics) was a great leader in the sense that he brought together a splintered nation, gave a nation an identity, restored pride to a nation, brought up a failed economy, and waged a war that he was winning until the US got involved. That truly makes him a great leader, but doesn't excuse the fact that he was a horrible person.

it rather is a conflict against a virulent, bastardized style of Islam. the subject is that many Muslims are afraid to talk out against it for many motives. although, it rather is crucial that average Muslims talk out and safeguard their faith from those evil zealots that have twisted it right into a sort of fascism. till that happens, many harmless people of all faiths will unfastened invaluable lives and treasure. it extremely is an historic turning think approximately Islam. Will it is a faith of existence or a faith of demise by way of fact the terrorists declare? The President describe the Axis of Evil as Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and North Korea. there has been no exchange to the coverage of dealing with all 4. Afghanistan and Iraq are being dealt with. Iran will probable be dealt with next in spite of the undeniable fact that what style it is going to take isn't clean. North Korea has been constrained with the aid of the chinese language yet remains a danger as long as Kim Jung Il is in fee. .

Well a common misunderstanding is that our enemy does not stand in front of us and fight. They sting and hide. Sending 1000s of troops will only require more supplies gear food etc etc. There will be a lot of standing around and no enemy to shoot. We cant just blow through the cities and destroy homes because MANY of the population is innocent and actually against the taliban. Hitler was a tyrant and obviously wasnt that great... he lost. So dont worry about the war on terrorism its not effecting you or the economy too greatly. Military isnt looking for oil or looking to take over. they are simply trying to spread democracy world wide. Bring the 3rd world countries up to par. They are still in the caveman era and the romans lived better than them 1000s of years ago. If we taim the middle east terrorism will be minimized.

Like Hitler? Let's take a look at that real quick.

-Hitler believed in a superior race of Aryans (which he was not one of) and purging or enslaving the world of all other so called inferior races......

-Hitler wanted invaded friends and foes alike to establish a third reich....

-Hitler was responsible for millions of deaths and billions of dollars in damage......

-Hitler broke almost all German treaties signed post WW1.....

-Hitler was not actually from Germany, but Austria

-Hitler commited suicide

Other than that we are in a recession if you didn't no, and sending so many troops over wouldn't be the best for our economy.

It's also not that easy to destroy an enemy who wears no uniform.

The war against terror???

PFFT!

The war OF terror, I think you mean.

America has invaded a foriegn border illegaly. Im tired of hearing how patriotic you war supporters are, trusting everything your government tells you when, as we all know, the government is famously untrustworthy. But for some bizarre reason, you take their word as the absolute truth when it comes to this subject, then wave your flag high in the air, 'as long as it takes place over there'

All this war is about is CHEAP OIL for America.

In the 60's your government painted Patrice Lumumba as a communist cannible to frighten the American housewives, then they murdered him & Installed a US "friendly" government to rule over the Congo. Why? Because Patrice Lumumba knew each diamond could pay a teachers wage, or go towards healthcare. He would of sold Africas minerals & rubber for what they were actualy worth, and built a healthy economy for the Congolese. The US government did not want this, did not want to pay for minerals or rubber or diamonds, so they murdered him and installed a president who would practically give away Africas wealth to America.

That is what The government is doing today, TERRORIZING developing countries & trying to install a "friendly" government who will give the oil away, whilst spinning propaganda on their own soil so that YOU fear muslims & the Taliban etc etc, and support their greedy "war".

And you are sucked in too, like the housewives of today that fear the Al Qaeda is going to burst into their Martha Stewart-ish homes, force them to wear a viel & pray to Allah in an easterly direction several times a day. You must fear something similar to this, to believe these groups are a threat to YOURSELF PERSONALY and MUST be wiped out.

I think you are wrong, and your type of thinking is unjust.

@JUNE: Here is a haiku style poem, about US democracy.

"Democracy

We bring it to you with force

What go you mean IRONIC??"

Do you want liberty or 100% security??

If you chose security over liberty, you are no longer talking about the United States of America as it always has been, and God willing, as it always will be, so long as it exists.

Muslim total in the world 1 billion they estimated that 1% are ready to jihad that 1 million of them. Since the occident is not in the total extermination of a nation ( that included all civilian) and the muslim don't care about who dies in the jihad then they use the kill anything that work for us tactic. our military can not fight that way so we respond and don't take the fight to them. result we loose soldier and their terror works.
