I'm an officer in the National Guard and I need to get a Top Secret (TS) clearance. On the SF86, there is a block about mental health (Block 21). It asks if you have met with a mental health professional, such as a counselor. I went to counseling twice when I was in college and it was with the college counseling services. The first incident was in 2011 when my boyfriend broke up with me. I had a really hard time focusing on school and I just wanted to have someone objective to talk to. Then, in 2012, I went for one session after my friend tried to take advantage of me (sexually). I wanted advice from someone who didn't know him, and it seemed like the counseling service was the most convenient at the time. Anyway, I'm a little confused how this relates with the TS paperwork. I DID see a counselor, but it wasn't about mental health. I only went for one session each time, and I don't even remember my counselors' names or what they even looked like. Am I supposed to list this? It says that you don't need to list the services if they are grief, family, or marriage counseling, but these instances don't really count as that either. Any guidance would be appreciated.
