I cant really ind much off post.
And i dont really know how it is on post, I have seen the houses but not sure.
Which do you think is better???
Would you save mor emoney leaving on post, seeing as the nicer houses are a litte more???

It depends on your husband's rank and which housing area you get. A lot of the on post housing is new since 2002 or so, and it isn't too bad. The older stuff is not good.



As far as off post, the one key thing I'd say about Fort Hood is that if you have kids going to school, you really want to look at the districts because there's a lot of disparity in the area between schools. If you don't have kids, it's pretty easy to find a decent place not too far from post, although traffic can be rough for Soldiers around PT time getting onto post.

Living on post, especially with a new baby and your husband deployed will give you a level of community and security that you would not have living off post. There will be plenty of other women and families like you and yours. For this time period, it would make a lot of sense to live on post. When he returns, then you can choose to stay or move into town.

have you tried this website? its for military members to find housing around post they even show you ones you can afford based on your BAH.. you have to register but its very simple and easy.. its helped me ALOT to find my house.. it will also show you pics and also pics of the housing they have on post..here is the site
