Honestly, it depends on the person. If it's really hard for you to deal with being yelled at, well, that first TI (not DI) experience will certainly be an interesting one. As will several of the subsequent ones until you get used to it. On the other hand, if you can't run for the life of you, you may find that time to be by far the hardest. (I do *not* recommend showing up to basic in this condition.) If you're afraid of heights, get ready for some challenges on the Obstacle Course. Then again, maybe it really will give you confidence, and you'll decide you're really happy you ended up with that loadmaster job. It's all about the person. That's part of why teamwork is so important--help you buddies through their rough times, and they do the same for you.

I realize that's not what you were looking for, so if you want to explain further where you think your problems might lie, maybe someone who had a similar can help you out more.

EDIT: While helpful, beware (or at least be aware) of videos. Some people see what they want to see, not the least because they're shown what others want to show.

It depends on what you consider hard. For some, the physical training will be the hardest because they hate to run or do push ups. For some, the IT's constant yelling will be the hardest part. Just remember it's just a game. For some, memorizing everything they tell you will be difficult, or marching and drill, or a number of other things. Go to the Air Force website and review their videos on basic, they're just like what will happen to you.

The hardest thing for me was the down time you'll get. If there is any down time you'll be required to fold clothes, iron without an iron, tweezer everything you own. Don't stress to much about the whole thing some of it was pretty cool like warrior week. I think you get two weeks of warrior training now.

Push ups and situps, otherwise it was a joke. Fun part of going in now in the summer is that everyone forms a mud puddle under them on the pt field from their sweat.

Joining

the only really hard training is the Royal marines 32 weeks Basic

all the rest are easy until you do specialist training Not basic tor SAS D Force and Seals Etc as most special forces you cannot join as a civilian you must already be in Uniform in one of the Branches of the service

the Royal marines test you before you join the only Mlitary force that does all the others teast you at the end of basics

i have done 2 basics in the Air Force and Both easy and when i first joined i was 90 lb wringing wet

It's the Air Force. It's not hard at all. It will be like a summer camp

You'll be fine. . . work out as much as you can now so you are in the best physical shape you can be in.

The hardest part for me was the lack of privacy (you are never alone, not for one minute) and the culture shock. There are no TVs, newspapers etc so you are focused on the tasks at hand, and those tasks only.

But, as one of the other posters mentioned, its part of the game. You will adapt, even thrive. Make sure you get your friends/family's addresses so you can write in your "down time"
