There could be many reasons why you haven't been contacted. The Red Cross can only do so much. If there is no emergency, you can request a Welfare check(I think it's called that) but unless you are listed as the next of kin, there is no promise that anyone would be willing to give you any information at all. The Red Cross military Liasons are all volunteers, and their priority is notifcation for true emergencies, so if they agree to help, there may be a wait.

You can contanct the red cross but when you call them you need to know where he is and what company he is with. The other thing you can do if you are worried is contact his home unit if he is a reserve or national guardsman. I feel for you my husband was just deployed so I understand what it feels like. Good Luck!!

I would suggest posting on the following web site.

If he is there odds are good that someone will show this to him.

Also you could always put a greeting or a message in Stars & Stripes its the news paper that the Joes get downrange.

If it's an emergency contact your local red cross. If not then you may have to wait for him to contact you. If you know what unit he is with you may try contacting them.
