I doubt it. I used to be responsible for the medical screening of all English and Welsh recruits who made it to the recruit selection centre at Sutton Coldfield (Which closed in 1986 or thereabouts). I can't remember seeing anyone with 'pes planus' come through the system in the three years I was there. Things may have changed now but I doubt it. Infantry work is hard on the feet and the army did not (in my time) employ podiatrists.

some years in the past, people who had 'Flat ft' weren't allowed contained in the army. The excuse replaced into that not in basic terms would the soldier be traveling long distances, yet that they may well be off stability while firing their rifles. those days, this isnt the case in any respect. There are professionals knowledgeable in assisting those with Flat ft pass approximately an hassle-free activity, alongside with the army. to help your ft, there are inserts made particularly on your shape which you will positioned into your footwear and boots. I remember analyzing that the protection stress have been actual attempting to layout a particular boot for those with this infliction. as quickly as you haven't any issues working long distances, training and excercising, this shouldnt be a concern in any respect.

Don't know what the British's policy is. But I joined the U.S. Army with flat feet to be on tanks.
