Army ACU's: can you wear your unit patch without wearing the unit flash also?

I have my unit patches but I haven't received my flash yet.. can I wear just the patch until I get the flash?

are you talking about your battalion crest... if so just go to the clothing and sales store on post and pick it up.

mutually as inprocessing in Korea, I wore the 2ID patch and not utilising a unit crest on the grounds that I had no longer yet been assigned to a particular battalion. as quickly as I have been given there, i became given a crest for my beret. My contemporary station, we've had persons placed on our patch and the crest of their previous unit via unavailability of the crests. individually, i could in basic terms placed on the patrol cap till I have been given a crest.

I must be having a really dumb moment but, what the hell is the flash?

I wear my unit patch, flag, air assault badge, etc on my acu's but i have never heard of the flash, please edit this and enlighten me
