The only requirement to apply for delta force is you must be an E5 or above and you must be a male. That is it. There is no MOS restriction. You do not need to be Airborne or a Ranger or even Special Forces.

There are over 1,000,000 personnel in the united states army. Less than four hundred of them are operators in ACE (formerly Delta force). To say that your probabilities of becoming a member of are scale down THAN SNAKE SH*T could be an understatement. And that i would really like to hear a single good motive why you'll rather be a grunt Marine than a Ranger. 1. The massive majority of ACE operators are enlisted. 2. ALL participants of ACE are pulled from the navy. Three. A threat to apply? It might very well occur. 4. Instead of minimum rank and repair record standards, the choice standards are changed traditionally, and also categorized. When you meet the skills, they are going to contact YOU, now not the wrong way round. 5. Enormously low casualty rate. Are not able to offer you a difficult statistic though.

To join Delta, you would really have to be a committed individual. My best advice is to join as an airborne infantryman, then go up the ladder like joining the Rangers, then move up to Special Forces. All of that training can prep you for a tour with Delta.

All special forces choose you based on your ability, capabilities and leadership. You cannot just enlist for it, you have to prove that you deserve to try. After a few years and if they have an opening, you can try for Q course, but the washout is around 70%. You have to be the top of your game, your PT has to be around 300 and you have to want it. Not just a bit, you have to be willing to bleed for it, to go beyond exhaustion, beyond muscle failure.

Short answer: You don't pick them, they choose you.

I tried way back in the day. I actually didn't make the PT. I was an infantryman, Ranger qualified, PT stud and had a bad day or something, but didn't make the cut. This is definitely not an enlistment cut....you truly have to be on your ****, otherwise, just stay home.

you cannot enlist straight into SFOD-D (what you refered to as delta force), you need a couple years of experience first before you can apply to their selection course.

army special operations operators are invited to the course, however you do not need to be invited: you can volunteer for it. ANY MOS can volunteer.

Just go to your recruiter and tell him you want to be in Delta. He'll send you right over to the office of administration where they will get your basic information. From there, they will send you on a practice mission in Eastern Europe and survey your skills and potential. If you pass, you will be sent to the Delta training course and be given a t-shirt that says "Delta qualified bada**" on the back and has a super cool logo on the front. Then you can come back to Yahoo answers and tell everyone how cool you are. Good luck bud!
