I think overall the Marines are the best. (I was USAF)..

The reason? The Marines have pretty much all they need within their own service for combat. They have their own dedicated assault ships, landing craft, copters, attack planes, tanks, artillery, troops, etc. All the other branches only have part of the whole and have to rely on another branch to provide some combat capability. For example, the Army needs the USAF for air support. The Navy needs the USAF for long distance air cover and support, The USAF needs the Army for base defense, the Army needs the Navy and USAF for transport of heavy cargo such as the M1 tank. Only the Marines have all that it takes to go fight. (Yes, the Navy does supply medical support but that is not really a combat arm and I am talking about what you really need to go fight.)

Simper Fi, be the best Marine you can.

(COMMENT: The Coast Guard is part of the Department of Homeland Security, not the DOD. While it has military capabilities, it in general is a defensive service and not one that usually gets involved in offensive military actions. I did not consider that in your question as I do not consider the Coast Guard as part of the military.)

I don't think that there is a "best branch". They all have a different mission. I was personally in the Navy and enjoyed it. I like the water and I like to travel. I went to a lot of cool places in the Navy.

If you like the Marines then it is the best choice for you. I knew a lot of Marines when I was in the Navy and got along well with all of them. I was a Corpsman, so most Marines like Navy Corpsmen.

You have to decide what you like and go with that. My opinion is everyone is different and someone who love the Air Force for what ever their reasons, should be in that branch, and someone who is more inclined for the Army should go in that branch.

As you will locate, people will be biased as to the dep. that they joined or have kinfolk in, i'm no exception. The branch you connect could adventure your reason behind turning out to be a member of the protection rigidity, though. once you're seeking to hitch in simple terms to position in and for the respect and status serving, Marine Corps is a thanks to bypass. the military is equivalent to the USMC for that reason, a lot less honor and status in accordance to all Marines i have time-honored and spoken to, infantrymen for sure will disagree. The Airforce is difficulty-free procedures to bypass once you're turning out to be a member of to achieve a job ability that you are able to use after the protection rigidity--they are time-honored for having the 'sensible people' notwithstanding i have met somewhat sensible persons from each branch. The Airforce also has the perfect barracks, bases, and the ambience isn't as annoying as the different branches. i have self assurance the probability pay is larger, do not quote me on that, though. The army, in my view, may be the perfect selection for you as they have countless job MOS's, the 'honor and status' remains there and possibilities of deploying are lower than the military and USMC--notwithstanding the possibilities of being stuck on a deliver for months at a time is extreme. The Coast preserve...properly, i do not quite evaluate them protection rigidity, they are in simple terms civilians that happen placed on a protection rigidity uniform in my view.

The Army.

If I were not medically disqualified, I'd be joining the Army (or probably already would have). It's my favourite because I guess it appeals the most and it's bigger than the Navy and RAF. They're closest to all the "action" and they're the backbone of any military.

There is no "best branch" in general. All of them serve our country and that's what matters. Each individual should do research and figure out which branch is for them.

Michael Barnes, you must be an idiot.

US pilots have NOT been blown out of the sky by another plane in over half a century you moron.

The only threat to pilots is AAA from the GROUND.

@sci, are you an idiot? The Navy travels more than any branch. It is a fact.

"Best" for what?

The Army was the "best" branch for me (personal reasons). Doesn't mean the Army would be the best for you or anyone else. Nor does it diminish the value of service in the Army or any other branch.

USAF- We travel far more than the Navy and get better seats when we get there!

Seriously we have the best Education programs and the best living quarters and do some of the hardest technical jobs in existance.

I think the best branch is the Marine Corps because, they travel to a lot of different countries, there the best fighting force in the world, we have the best uniforms, best cadences, highest standard in physical fitnesss and Precision shooting.
