Different tools for different jobs. Bahmos for example is almost 5 times heavier than Harpoon. That will limit some of the platforms that can operate Brahmos. If you are using one of those platforms, obvious Brahmos won't cut it.
BTW
Supersonic speed is not necessarily an advantage in an anti-ship missile. It certainly does not automatically confer "superiority" over a sub-sonic weapon. Each just has different means of achieving its goal and both types have advantages and disadvantages.

Well the Brahmos can be fired from sea, land, and air travelling at mach 2.5.
But i would go with the Harpoon missile, do to the fact, that boeing has intergrated it into their systems which is a good thing for america. But also the harpoon can be launched from several plane brands, so overall i would take harpoon to war with me.

Brahmos isn't a "carrier-killer" and yes we do have a defense against it - the most advanced early warning systems in the world. No weapon is of any use of the owner is dead or at the bottom of the ocean before he gets a chance to use it.

absolutely BrahMos.
It travels at speeds of Mach 2.5 to 2.8. It is about three-and-a-half times faster than the U.S.A's subsonic Harpoon cruise missile.
