My friend and I were debating this, Sure alot of Americans have guns, but alot of Iraqis had guns and almost all of the Afghans do as well. They are also not exactly pushing the army out either. So do you think a foreign army could invade and occupy the USA, assuming no nukes or such? Or would the manpower, logistics and resistance be too much?

No nation has the logistics to carry out a successful invasion of the US besides the US. Only the US has the logistical assets as well as the troop strength to invade such a large country. The UK can invade, but their numbers are really small compared to the US. The US comprises of the continental US, as well as Alaska and Hawaii. The sheer land mass is incredible. It would not be like Iraq or Afghanistan, not small nations in any respect but tiny compared to the US. If it could be done, it would take years to completely envelope the country and only with 1,000,000 or more combat troops.

maybe California because too many of them would emulate their favorite country FRANCE and if you need proof what state has the most illegals living in it? California.

No country has the means to transport an army big enough to occupy America on a military scale.

Edit: For those of you saying England did it in 1812 where are your troops today? You did not successfully invade our country and there is no way you could today but we could you if we wanted to.

america is one of the toughest countries to invade geagraphically. we also have very diverse country the south would be near impossible to hold the oregon and washington would be really hard to go through all the woods. this assuming they could land a occupational force which would have to number in the millions, if their going for the entire country needless to say our ritaliation from airforce and constantly afloat aircraft and nuclear submarine wow i dont see any other country being able to contend with that not even a combined force of asian and south american. our greatest threat would be internal

No, but it's got absolutely nothing to do with personal gun ownership, but due to military and defensive technology and a massive population. Also of course the fact that nearly all the world's countries would support the US against an attacker.

Modern day? They'd have to get past our ten Nimitz class supercarriers, our air force which has over 5,000 commissioned aircraft, the army, the marines, and our 77 million gun owners.

That of course, is if they didn't use nuclear weapons. If they did that, well... Mutually Assured Destruction.

I'd doubt it, the shear amount of manpower that would be needed to take over such a large country would be too great.

Any invader would also face one hell of a fight if they tried

No. The level of resistance would be just too great for a foreign power to try and exert its will on the American people.

Maybe China but they would have to go into North America via Alaska that's a very hard thing to do and then force their way past Canada which would slow them down and then into the west coast that's a billion dead right there.

No.

Don't think so.

Look in the real world.

Decode this lyrics " You'll see "

"There you be"

"You raised me up"

"In God we trust"

"Children are to be seen and not to be heard "

Lesson one?

Never mess with "The wild wild West"

Lesson two?

Never ever try to play "The Big Boys" games.

Lesson three?

Will get "Smack Down" like the Liberation of Freedom from world war two.

Lesson four?

Who are you?

Luke 21.30-36

Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49

Luke 9.25,55-56,60
