You are under no obligation to join. I suggest you clean up your credit and then try to come back in for the MOS you want. However the tricky thing with MEPS is if you get up and walk away something you were wanting might actually open. (However in your case nothing that requires a clearance).

I don't know how I can answer this posed as a question but I can tell you this question has been mumbled by many a recruit as a statement.

Good luck. There's a lot to dislike in the Army but do your best and in 4 years you might be very happy with how you've changed. If you work hard, you'll have a lot to be proud of.

I have never seen anyone benefit by fighting and complaining with their command.

If you don't want the job they offered, at least you were man enough to walk away and not get talked into something you were sure you didn't want. I'll take back about 1/2 of the abuse I've thrown your way for it.

What could possibly cause a security issue that would prevent you from being an AC Mech but would allow you to be a combat engineer? (They also blow sh*t up.)

that's why everybody said, "don't sign anything"...you don't necessarily get what you want, you get what they need. Although disappointing, its not the worst that could happen, you might like the other jobs more, hang in there, you'll be fine.

I always wanted to be a banker. A dream unfulfilled.

Do the army. You'll like it more than you think.
