Yes all military vehicles are locked at the end of their duty even aircaft the only ones not locked are war ships for obvious reasons
as duty officer on military bases we would not only check the compound we would check the Locks on all vehicles and Our American Made Hercules C17 Orions all have Door locks and keys

No they do not. James is doesn't know what hes talking about. When I was in the Marines the newbie would get punk'd by the older guys. One such punk requires a senior member of the platoon to ask the newbie to go to the Sgt and ask for the keys to the HMMWV. From there the Sgt would look at the newbie like hes crazy and tell him to get the hell out of the office. So, in short there are no keys for military vehicles. And the Army Vet made a good point. Loosing keys in a combat zone would be pretty stupid and would only make you look stupider in front of your superiors whom you surprised showing that its possible for a human being to be stupider than he/she already is.

US Army vehicles are secured with a chain or cable and a padlock, usually through the steering wheel. Some have padlocks on the cab doors. They are also usually parked in secured areas under guard.
They are started without keys, since losing an ignition key in a combat area could cause serious problems.

In the US, some do and some don't. Combat vehicles don't. Non-combat, commercially available vehicles do.
