No the recruiter won't test you unless you tell him you have an issue right off the bat. He will ask about drug use and you should not lie and say "never" but if you can say "once or twice, or a few times" that's waivable.
If he wants to test you just tell him you're not ready to commit to the military yet and are just exploring the options. If he does test you, yes failing would be a big issue. And the 90 day thing someone wrote is wrong. I believe I have read reliably that about 30 days is usually adequate for marijuana; most other drugs will leave your system by then as well.
If someone says "hair test" ignore it, they aren't going to bother to do that; it's expensive.

Umm check how long MJ stays in the bodies system for. I think it's about two or three weeks. But still make him drink a **** load of water and piss it out. No more than 2 liters a day!! Cuz it will kill him. And try cranberry juice, it helps piss out chemicals faster. And let recruiter know he smoked MJ for a while. Recruiter wont make a note of it, hell just say to stop smoking and keep mouth shut. But if recruiter is an ***, then he is ******! But tell him to try to piss as much as he can before taking that piss test. And tell him to stop smoking! If he so much wants a better life, then what the **** is he still risking a chance of a lifetime???

If you have smoked something that you should not have, it will take 90 days for it to clear out. While you will probably not be tested at the recruiters office, he will notice something is not right if you schedule your next meeting for lets say 90 days. They were not born yesterday.

It will matter if you fail. They have plenty of volunteers, they can afford to be picky.
