Question:
I Fraudulently Enlisted In DEP Now What?

I signed up at MEPS two days ago in the DEP program. Under my recruiters advice i lied about everything from having braces previously to having been in rehab, to an overdose. I made sure they knew about my DUI, however that DUI denied me immediate access to a security clearance right off the bat. So i signed as a medic, something else i was interested in, to bide my time until i could apply for a security clearance. My recruiter as well as his commander both told me that i would get my security clearance within a year, even with the rehab stint (something else they told me to lie about). Now i hear that security clearance requests will usually include a thorough medical history search (something i was told would be "just fine"). Well im not going down for fraudulent enlistment so does anybody know that if i back out now is there anything the Army can do to me seeing as i have not sworn in officially yet? I still want to go but not willing to risk a court martial.

You should never lie. You need to tell them everything!!!

you can back out of the DEP as long as you haven't did the second swear in at MEPs right before you go to bootcamp. but as far as going back in later. I don't know how that will work. I'm sure the keep some sort of record on you. and when they do your security clearance the next time your old enlistment paperwork would probably be pulled. your best bet is to be honest especially about things that are documented. good luck.

There are several levels of security clearance. You will have a certain level due to the fact that you will have access to personal medical records of other people. Depending on what clearance level you are going for, the rehab thing and the DUI will definitely disqualify you for certain levels just as bankruptcy and even marital issues will limit security access.

Considering that your primary concern is having access to sensitive and/or classified information as opposed to anything related to your military career, I hope that that raises red flags before they even get to your history.

Unfortunately when you apply for your security clearance the rehab and overdose will be discovered.

At a minimum you will not be granted a clearance. You could possibly be charged with fraudulent enlistment and discharged.

security clearances are very easy to get but they're hard to keep. i lied about a few things to enlist and they never found out about it. i know for my clearence they went back to my neighborhood and asked alot of questions and they really call all the people on ur form too. but if this information is somewhere in any of ur records then i would be upfront about it. besides ur not really enlisted until ur bout to go to bootcamp..(they dont tell u that)

if you decide not to go off to the military their is nothing they can do. Even if you have sworn in you have until the actual day to decide if you want to go. As far as fraudlent enlistment, they act all strict about letting you into the military but wants you leave off to boot camp you are in.. if their was anything that was in your records that was going to prevent you from being elgible they will make sure you dont leave. i wouldnt worry about it.. if you really want to go i say go... when i enlisted i didnt let them know i had seizures... once i got in, i was in.. i did my 4 years and now i am out... if they do happen to find something suspicious they will send you home before you finish boot camp... you wont be fined or sent to jail.... because you will still be considered a recruit...

i'm approximately to pass to MEPS for the 1st time next week, yet I even have executed ALOT of examine. so right this is so as your concerns. Your bronchial asthma is very significant to have suggested, because of the fact the severe actual torture your physique is approximately to pass by way of would o.k. strengthen your condition and subsequently be existence threatening, it somewhat is why they ask you interior the 1st place. broken arm wont rely till it required surgical technique, my recruiter and that i talked some broken cheek bone of mine and he says no surgical technique no prob, purely easier to no longer point out it. Alcohol wont rely in any respect, and that i'm stunned i've got no longer even been asked approximately it till now (ive in elementary terms been asked approximately drug utilization). zits isn't any prob. you ought to easially declare that you got at a loss for words approximately your cellular telephone, yet I dont comprehend why you may lie. optimistically they dont psych-eval you in the event that they discover out. as far because of the fact the outcomes that would take place, you ought to o.k. be booted from dep and not allowed to re-enlist (in the adventure that your fortunate you may get a waiver in the event that they do boot you) So for my area, till you have genuine looking concern that your bronchial asthma ought to arise and reason harm in training you will desire to defiantly deliver it up, for the apparent motives. So, all people white lies approximately broken bones and stuff like that so no concerns. I dont plan on bringing up some stuff at MEPS besides, and that i'm particular we are defiantly no longer the 1st...

Trust me they will fund out and then you are screwed. You should have never lied, by doing so you just got yourself a huge fine and jail time. It may not be tomorrow or next week, but they will find out. Yes, when they do the security clearence that is most likely when they will find out.
