Is the Irish Republican Army still active in Northern Ireland? I was wondering if the IRA was still active in Northern Ireland today even after many IRA members laid down their arms.

Well, a group calling itself "The REAL IRA" still kills an occasional unarmed guy at his front door.

There are several active groups (some of which claim the name "IRA" and some of which are basically the same with a different name), but they're largely limited to small-scale stuff. At this point, they're pretty pathetic, but they can be dangerous.



Remember, there hasn't been just one "IRA" since the late 60's.
