No there is not anything better about West Point than Air Force or Annapolis. The only way anyone knows the real differences is if they do the Service Academy Exchange for a semester and is able to see first hand. Otherwise, one grad is as good as another. Sure they focus on different things because their branch demands different things. As far as getting into the private sector all the Service Academies are equal. A guy with a 3.7 from West Point wont beat out a 3.7 from Air Force just because he went to West Point. The West Point guy might win out because he commanded 100 guys while the Air Force guy was a pilot and the position requires someone with more personnel background than a technical background, but it wont be due to which Service Academy they went to.

The only real reason to go to West Point is because you want to go to West Point to become an Army Officer. If you aren't sure that is what you want to do then you might want to try ROTC or something instead.

West Point is considered the flag ship of all of the military academies, while the "big 3" (Army, Navy, Air Force) are all competitive and excellent schools, West Point really hones in on the "person" aspect. They focus more on being a leader of people. Go to all of the campuses and you will see this first hand. At Navy there are statues of ships. At Air Force there are statues of planes. At West Point there are statues of Generals, leaders of Soldiers and historical icons. West Point is also the most highly regarded service academy in the private sector if you want to do the old "5 and dive!"

I had no situation finding this know-how on the USMA at West factor webvsite. For starters: the present enrollment is around 4,000 (the best extensive form would nicely be chanced on on the "domicile" website. the student/school ratio is approximately a million/14 to a million/18 (a million professor according to 14 to 18 scholars) The admissions standards is additionally chanced on on the positioning Undergraduate expenses are no longer proper, as a results of fact the army will pay all training/expenses etc. plus provides each and each cadet an allowance of around $6,000. bypass to their website for the courses provided: West factor graduates get carry of a Bachelor of technological expertise degree upon ending up their courses The athletics, club extracurricular events are probably the suitable provided in the U. S. (see the internet website decrease than) There are no ameliorations between in/out expenses, as, as quickly as lower back, the army money the finished 4 years. No scholars stay off campus.

West Point is the premier standard above all US Universities in the nation. It has the highest ratings of all graduates including the ever snobbish schools of political indoctrination in what we call the Ivy League. One also has to consider tradition and the fact that the US General staff is dominated by West Point Grads.

West Point has a longer History, but none of that matters. What matters is in which branch would you like to serve.

I also worry that a Service Academy is not in your future. You are judged based on how you write on a blog.

Academies not acedmeies

Service not serves

Versus not verses

And capitalization counts.

You wanna be an Army officer, you go to west point

You wanna be an air force officer, you go to the air force academy

you wanna be a naval or marine officer, then you go to the naval academy.

Other than that, there really is no difference.

The Air Force as a whole has more college grads, more educated personnel, and more technically proficient individuals. (true facts! I actually just had that briefing today, lol)

We are just the "smartest" branch. The USAF takes care of its people better than the other branches, too.
