A Duty Soldier is a "hey you". Sweep this, mop that, carry this, move that.

Long, long time ago

I can still remember

57 Alpha was a Duty Soldier; Somebody who was physical capable to conduct manual labor under strict supervision. Said individual lacked the mental ability to serve in the Infantry and would pose a risk to his fellow soldiers in a combat environment. Most 57A had a GT below 68 points and were used to perform all sorts of fatigue details. This MOS was eliminated in 1972 from the best of my recollection.

Go to the Army.com website and search it under different jobs in the Army, you should be able to find out what that MOS stands for. Could also just call or see a Army recruiter and ask them, they can tell you also.
