Im studying for the ASVAB and i feel like the questions are really overwhelming. I was and A b student in high school and its only been two years since I got out but for some reason the questions are really challenging for me

Is the test really that hard? I want to do the best I can so i can get the best job, other than the practice test online, what would you suggest? to get a better score

I know how you feel.

It's been 3+ years since I've even looked at a math problem, and I was worried that I might not score well enough in the two math areas. I took the practice test on military.com and didn't do as well as I wanted to in Mathematics Knowledge.

military.com Full-Length Test 1 results:

General Science - 18 Correct, 7 Incorrect, 72 Correct %

Arithmetic Reasoning - 26 Correct, 4 Incorrect, 86.7 Correct %

Word Knowledge - 30 Correct, 5 Incorrect, 85.7 Correct %

Paragraph Comprehension- 14 Correct, 1 Incorrect, 93.3 Correct %

Auto & Shop Information - 13 Correct, 12 Incorrect, 52 Correct %

Mathematics Knowledge - 13 Correct, 12 Incorrect, 52 Correct %

Mechanical Comprehension - 10 Correct, 15 Incorrect, 40 Correct %

Electronics Information - 7 Correct, 13 Incorrect, 35 Correct %

I wanted to score well in the ST Line Score for the job I want to get into.

http://www.military.com/ASVAB/0,,ASVAB_MOS_Army.html

ST - Skilled Technical: GS+VE+MK+MC

...The ASVAB subtests are: General Science (GS); Arithmetic Reasoning (AR); Word Knowledge (WK); Paragraph Comprehension (PC); Numerical Operations (NO); Coding Speed (CS); Auto and Shop Information (AS); Mathematics Knowledge (MK); Mechanical Comprehension (MC); Electronics Information (EI); and Sum of Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension (VE). Note that as Numerical Operations (NO) and Coding Speed (CS) subtests are phased out, some line scores may be changed...

So the day that I went to take the ASVAB I was a little worried about scoring well enough that I didn't have to retake the test.

The actual test was way easier than the practice test!!!

I scored a 92. I don't know my Line Scores yet, but they should be good.

I used a couple of ASVAB books to review information and practice some of the questions; I took the practice tests online; studied a bit at march2success.com; and checked out a math tutor video at the library. The ASVAB ended up being much easier than I expected.

I wish you luck.

I never thought the test was that hard, but it could have been, I suppose. I had to take an additional test and score a certain amount to get the job that I wanted. I can't even remember what my ASVAB scores were, but my EDPT (Electronic Data Processing Test) scored 71... I remember it, because I had to take it twice (they lost the first one)

I had purchased a workbook for the ASVAB, which helped me.

As already stated, any person who was once equipped to graduate prime university with bigger than Cs will have to be equipped to get a reasonable unfold of jobs, permit by myself 'simply qualify'. If you took the ACT or SAT at any factor, it is approximately on par with the ones, truthfully less difficult in my individual opinion -- the mathematics is not more elaborate than elementary algebra and geometry.

no the test isn't hard. get a study guide for it and study until you think your ready. i took the test last year and passed with a 85 (for the navy) i was in the room for 4 hours taking the test. i thought it was very easy.

all you gotta do is read the asvab prep book until you feel comfortable with the subject, and then take the test.. the test is the only thing that can tell you where you stand as far as what you know/remember from high skool...just refresh a lil then take the test you probably are nervous.. good luck and thanks for serving

Geez, i don't remember it being that hard...what are you having trouble with?

I'd suggest not trying to learn new things (electronics diagrams, for instance), but focus on brushing up on skills that you haven't used since HS. Some of the problems seem hard, but just use logic to work 'em out (like the gear diagrams).

Good luck.

Don't psych yourself out over the test. It's not that hard.

You're already ahead since you are studying for it.

Good luck!

It wasn't that hard at all. I just went in and took it. Most are common sense questions that require simple logic.
