I wouldn't worry about it. As long as it is basically the same description as when he went into dep he will be ok. As long as he doesn't brag to his recruiter or any one in the DEP program he will be alright. I was a recruiter for a little while and that isn't a big deal. Tattoos that don't show aren't a big deal in the Navy. If he would have gotten a brand new tattoo there could have been a little bit of a problem but he will be ok. If he is going to wait to get more tattoos tell him to wait after he is out of his A school after he is in the Fleet that is when he should get his other tattoos.

In dep program, he's fine, someone said wait til after A school idk, if it's not approved by the command and u get it n e way... It's called Defamation of government property and if he's suppose to route a chit, but doesn't, it's also Article 92, failure to obey a lawful order. We are considered government property and he could get captain's mast.... Realistically, no... I've gotten 3 more tattoos since I've been in without routing a chit and it's no biggy. Some commands are different from others, though. My friend got captain's mast for falling asleep while suntanning and getting 3rd degree burns. If his tattoo gets infected or it affects his work status, maybe, but the navy loves to use this term "Don't ask, Don't tell." Keep that in mind and your friend will be fine.

Tats are a military tradition. As long as it is not racist or anything of that nature he will be good. I have never heard of anyone getting an article for getting a tat, if your chain of command doesn't like it they will have to live with it. The military is changing standards on tats as well. You can have them on your neck and on your hands now. Every service is a little different but not to much. He will be fine though, I got multiple tats in DEPS and it didn't affect me at all.

For the DEP program? Just a little more paper work. The Recruiter will probably want to take more photos.

Have the new wife's face put into it. Just a matter of time anyway. Personally when doing tats of future exes, I prefer using the rack instead of jackals. Most women prefer the rack because the elongation makes them appear thinner. Or if you are a hip, modern guy, perhaps the flesh eating bacteria tat of wifey. Now, that would be groovy.

as long as it shows no racial content in it, he should be fine. but just in caFor clarity, revisions and additions to Navy uniform regulations, article 2201, are quoted below in their entirety: article 2201. Personal appearance, because it is impossible to provide examples of every appropriate or unacceptable (“conservative” or “eccentric”) grooming standard, the good judgment of leaders at all levels is key to the enforcement of the Navy s personal appearance policy. Therefore, hair, grooming, and personal appearance while in uniform shall present a neat, professional appearance.se look this up

You can't have any NEW tattoos. It's technically the same tatt, plus they didn't photograph it. I wouldn't say anything to the recruiter, I really doubt they will pay any attention to the design(they'll look in his file that he has a back tattoo and that's that)

As long as it is not visible outside of a "T-Shirt and Shorts" he is in no trouble. If it goes up to the neck then he could have problems.
