Can you get a new flag for a deceased veteran if it's been lost/stolen/destroyed?

My mother gave her husbands flag to his son, but he lost it. Is there anyway to get a new flag? I know it's not the SAME flag, but it matters to her.

"Replacement Flags



The law allows us to issue one flag for a veteran's funeral. We cannot replace it if it is lost, destroyed, or stolen. However, some veterans' organizations or other community groups may be able to help you get another flag."



Check your local VFW, or other veteran's organization.
