We used M-14 7.62 mm rifles initially and later the M-16 5.56 mm., the M-79 40 mm grenade launcher, the M-60 7.62 mm Machine Gun and the 50 caliber Machine Gun. I was in the artillery and our battery fired the M102 105 mm howitzer. Other artillery included the M114 155 mm towed howitzer, the M109 Self Propelled 155 mm howitzer, the M110 8 inch gun, and the M107 175 mm howitzer.

my sgt allowed me to use my own 20 guage, sawed off, and .357 that was sent to me from home because i loved to go in close. when i started shooting , this would confuse them and the rest got good shots because they concentrated on me. i knew i wasnt coming back so i was going out in a blaze of glory. silver star, bronze star, 2 purple hearts and ptsd was my reward for this stupidity.
