What do you want to do for a job? There are 3 other branches of the military that you are overlooking. Each branch has their unique skill sets that make up the different career opportunities. Talk to any recruiter, take your ASVAB and when you get your scores, talk to a recruiter for each branch, they will put you in the job you want and that you are best suited for. I picked my job before I swore in, started as Explosive Ordnance Disposal and the later on I cross trained into Electronics Intelligence.

This is what i say I am in the United States Army and the facts point this out that in the army you pick your job before you can swear in and after your time served the army helps you find a job and makes sure you are taking care of.

It depends on what job(s) you're interested in, and what you expect to get out of being in the military - which of course requires you to put forth effort.

Which is also why I'm going to say "get your lazy butt up and talk to a recruiter."

Join the Army. You don't have what it takes to be a Marine.

"I CAN BE A MARINE AND WILL BE"

You just answered your own question with a little reverse psychology help from a friend. Now you can thank him instead of screwing him.
