Question:
Will MEPS go through ALL medical records, or only things you've admitted to?

I recently just swore into the Military, and there were two minor things I did not disclose. One being a small scar on my hand from when I had stitches (it literally looks like another wrinkle on my hand) and on that same hand I had injured a ligament in my thumb. Seeing as this are not huge life threatening and disqualifying issue such as asthma and they do not hinder my performance, nor will they I chose not to disclose them. I'm simply wondering if they'll dive far enough to see them, or is this one of those things where they'd only find out if I tell them?

I recently had to get a higher clearance and my medical records were never touched. You should have never lied but now that you have you must keep up with the lie or your screwed. I've been to a doc before when I've injured my leg and got the flu. Never once were any of my old medical records pulled? Why would they there common ailments. So no they don't pull them every time you get injured.

If you have ALREADY sworn in as you say, you've already been to MEPS and they have checked your medical history questionnaire and you physically so that's done with. If later they have cause to look at certain conditions and issues, they can do it.

Don't concern yourself with things that you have already done or you will be looking over your shoulder your whole tour. But at the "moment of truth" at reception you may tell the truth.

If they have a reason to

If you're injured

If you ever need a clearance

So basically you're looking at only being able to do one enlistment at most before a reason to look comes up and praying you don't get injured, on top of that, You'll be looking over your shoulder your entire time in uniform afraid of FE charges

It was really stupid to lie when it wasn't even disqualifying

They'll only know what you tell them. MEPS cannot legally go to your physician(s) and request your medical records.

On the other hand, if either becomes an issue at a later date, it will be investigate further.

Nobody is going look at any medical records. Even if you need a Top Secret SCI clearance (I had one) they do not check your medical records.
