So today I took my ASVAB and I got my scores back and I have NO idea what any of them mean I'll make a list and show you what I got

Military Entrance Score(AFQT) 54

General Science 57
Arithimetic Reasoning 55
Word Knowledge 59
Paragraph Comprehension 54
Mathematics Knowledge 47
Electronics Information 47
Auto and Shop Information 48
Mechanical Comprehension 58

What does all that mean? And how wide of a selection of jobs would I have? And where can I see the jobs I'm open to for with these scores?

You can get a lot more information right from their website. Basically each job has minimum score requirements, you can get more info here:

http://www.military.com/join-armed-forces/asvab/asvab-test-explained.html?col=7000023459245&comp=7000023459245&rank=4

THE AFQT is overall score, which basically says you are reasonably competent enough to join. The test is not actually hard, mostly basic HS level stuff, the armed forces are not very picky.. but certain jobs will of course require certain individual high scores, such as a linguist.

Personally, I would not recommend the armed forces unless you have no other options..

You get a lot of scores to look at when you get your paper back. You get your test scores which you don't look at, then you get your line scores which is a couple test scores added to each other. The line scores is what tells you what jobs you can get, some MOS have requirements in line scores some don't, you percentile score is the number everyone talks about. its up to 99, and the number you get means you did better than that many % of the people that took the test. I just went to MEPS on wednesday, and I got a 90, to get in the Army you need a 31 and the average person gets a 42. My GT was 126, to be able to do anything in the Army you need a GT of 120. Based on your scores, your recruiter will be able to pull up everything you qualify for, and tell you what bonuses are available. Good luck.

Your total ASVAB score is 54, which means that you scored Alpha on your test. There are two ranks, Alpha (50 or more) and Bravo (49 and under). Your other scores like Word Knowledge and Auto and Shop will determine your line scores which determine what military MOS's you can and cannot do. For example to be Combat Support you have to have a GT score of 90, or to be a Combat Vehicle Repairer you have to have a MM of 105. GT stands for General Technical which is a combination of your Verbal Expression (VE) and Arithmetic Reasoning (AR). EL is a combination of your General Science (GS), Arithmetic Reasoning (AR), Mathematics Knowledge (MK) and Electronic Information (EI). MM is combined with your General Science (GS), Auto & Shop (AS), Mathematics Knowledge (MK) and Electronics Information (EI). And CL are a combination of Verbal Expression (VE), Arithmetic Reasoning (AR), and Mathematics Knowledge (MK). What you should get out of this is you scored very well, and your recruiter should come up with a list of jobs you can and cannot do based on your overall score, and line scores. I got a 74 on my ASVAB and got line scores of GT-108, EL-114,MM-101, and CL-116.

the individual scores mean how much better than others did. For example your General Science. You did 57% better than average. An AFQT score of 54 is good. I got a 53 and i qualified for any job on my Air National Guard base. So you'll get good choice of jobs. All branches have a minumun AFQT score of under 40 so youre good

And i recommend using usmilitary.about.com. Google search "List of jobs for *enter branch*" and they'll tell you everything you need to know score wise
