Well guys, I need some help, I want to became a pilot and I want to serve the U.S, for first I would just join the air force, but them I saw more about spec ops wich made me not so sure if it is aviation that I really wanted, plus I've saw about the marine corps and I liked the energy, but I just don't know, my dad says to me join the airforce because it's better, but what I want really to know is,what are my chances, because I'm a green card holder, I just came from Brasil, I must add that though i was no born in this country I love it as any other american and I belive in its justice and I want to be part of it! well here are my questions

Joining the marine corps, when I'm serving can I still become an officer and study to become an pilot? as a non-us citizen what are my chances?

If I joining the marine corps or even the air force will I be able to join an spec ops team?

Am I able to join the spec ops being a non-us citizen? If I can join an spec ops team am I able to choose like, if I am on the MC, can i join the spec ops team the NAVY Seals? or any other?

What are my chances to become a pilot on the MC?

What are my chances to become an spec ops on the MC?

in the marine Corps will I have technical programs for learning, electronics n' mechanic?

As you can see now I'm now interested in the spec ops too, if you can tell me more about spec ops and pilot I would be glad to know

Well I Know that other jobs will open when i get the U.S Citenzenship, but I want to chose the best way to learn while I'm still not able..

and pretty much for what I saw the air force doesn't have jobs in aviation open for non citizens, but in the marine corps there are more jobs open for it, and well, I may want to become an spec ops, can anyone light my ideas? please help ill give the most points for the better answer thx for your time

You must be able to qualify for a secret clearance before being considered for any special operations unit. Just because you're a citizen doesn't mean you'll always get it. They both have special operations units.

Pilot program in the USMC is pretty competitive too simply because there are less pilots in the USMC than the USAF. Both have rigorous programs.

Both have technical and electronic MOS's.

The USMC is more cut throat in nature because there are not a lot of slots open for some of the MOS's. This is because they are the second smallest branch besides the Coast Guard.

You can enlist with a green card, however I would slow down a bit. You are talking about joining the Special Operations community without even knowing if you qualify for Military service (MEPS needs to clear you).

You can't just "join" a Special Operations community. You need to pass the selection process and actually get selected (not all that pass get selected in some units).

You say "you might want to become spec ops", or a pilot. Well, it doesn't matter what you want. The needs of the Air Force and the Marine Corps comes first. If you do NROTC or AFROTC (to become an officer, because all pilots are commissioned officers which need to hold a 4 year degree) and you want to be a pilot, but they are in dire need of a cook, then you're SOL unless you were in the top of your class.

Also, keep in mind that your chances of getting a pilot slot at NROTC or AFROTC are virtually zero. You need to be on the top of the OML (Order of merit list), because most of the pilot slots are given to academy students.

I would look at other jobs, because if those are the only 2 things you want, you won't go very far.

If you want to go spec ops then neither. The marines spec ops is called MARSOC and will most likely be disbanded in the next five years and it is insanely hard to get in to. The air forces spec ops is called para rescue jumpers, and the training is the hardest military training in the world. There are currently only 300 para rescue jumpers (pjs). If you want spec ops then go to the army. The rangers are the easiest spe ops to get into, but they aren't really spec ops, and te training still isn't easy. The army special forces (green berets) are more of a spec ops team than the rangers, and if you fail training then you can still fall back to the army unlike if you fail bud/s (seal training) you have to spend 2-6 years in the navy fleet before you can try again, IF you can try again. The coast gaurds DOGs ( deplorable operations group) are easier to get into, but they receive very little recognition for what they do.
