This is gonna sound stupid...

I just signed for the Army as 92W. I know it's water treatment, but I want to know how often I'll get deployed, and when I do, will I just be sitting on a base?

Ft. Jackson - 9 weeks (BT)
Ft. Lee - 15 weeks (AIT)
Ft. Benning - 2 weeks (ABN)

I was offered Airborne (Whiting apparently liked me...)

Any place where the water needs treating for cleaning or drinking (which covers Iraq and Afghanistan) will need your services. Doubt you will ever find yourself ever just sitting on a base.

It depends on your unit more than your MOS. I know 11B E-7s who never deployed and I know cooks out of basic who deployed within 30 days of graduating AIT. If you want to go you will probably get your wish. But I can't say you will actually do your job the whole deployment. In my old unit the one 92W we had in the whole battalion was put in the POL section because they didn't have anything else for her to do.

EDIT: POL stands for Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants. They're (92F) basically the fuelers of the army. But in your case you will most likely get to do your job anyway since we all need water to drink and bathe in while deployed.

JADAM, it was "In the Army Now" with Pauly Shore LOL. And, I think your chances of getting deployed are just as good as anybody elses. And you deploy with your unit you are assigned to when you are done training. Thank you for your service. God Bless

Edit: You are quite the rude one. We already told you in a few different ways. Ask your recruiter if your not getting the question you don't want to hear.

Anyways you will get deployed whenever you unit gets deployed.
