1.USMC

2.Army

3.Navy

4.USAF

5.Coast Guard

Physically this is the order.

but mentally the Air Force might have the hardest training because they will break you down more mentally than physically to point out all the trainees who can't think under pressure. The Air Force is the Smartest branch that's why it might be more tougher when it comes to mental/emotional challenges.

USMC, Parris Island is similar to a nightmare you might have at times except it lasts for 13 weeks lol. Army is defenitely 2nd with Navy 3rd and AF last out of the 4 major branches. Your AF it probably does seem hard to you but the good thing about being a Marine is that if you switch branches you dont have to do another boot camp ever again. However, anyone from other branches wanting to be in our uniform has to do the whoooole 13 weeks.

Marines is the hardest. Navy doesn't even have a field week. They just pretend to be on a ship for a week. I wouldn't call that hard. Air Force BMT is very mentally demanding.

USMC - 13 Weeks

US Army - 10 Weeks

USAF - 8 1/2 Weeks

USN - 8 Weeks

When it comes to physical requirements, USMC takes the cake. No one is going to deny that.

However, Air Force has the next highest standards.

They are required to do more pushups then the Army (Marines don't test Pushups), as many sit ups as the Marines (more sit ups required than the Army), and run a mile and a half faster then the Navy to meet minimum requirements. In fact the Navy you can fail one area and do well in the others and still pass. You cannot do this in the other 3 branches.

I went through the marine core paris island and army basic training later on and what most people dont understand is that yes marine core is longer for a standard basic but if you have OSUT (one station unit training) like i did i was in basic training for almost a year long.... so on a strait up just basic to basic marines a bit tougher but anyone in the army that goes through OSUT training of any sort hands down the army

I hear a lot of Army is tougher stuff. I'm a Marine and during basic we had an Army Sgt who joined our platoon about 5 weeks in. Not only did he have to go through Marine Corps basic again he also lost a stripe. I was told it was that way for any other branch that wanted to join the Marines . Marines however don't have to go through basic again if they make a lateral move to another branch. That's how it was in 1987 .

AF can fall on the bottom their guy. Army Basic sucks but not as much as I could imagine for the USMC. Army BCT is 10weeks long but if you go through OSUT like I did for Military Police, its like 19weeks of basic training.

While you're in it, yes. Depending on what you're job is though, Basic training might seem like a picnic compared to some of the other training you could go through.

Well.. The only people who could truly answer this question would be the people that went through every branch's basic training. And I doubt that any of these people have, and even if they did every last one of them are different which mean you would get different opinions about each training. Well in order to answer your question you would have to look up some type of statistics about each basic training and do a little comparing and contrasting.

Ummm Basic Training at Ft Benning is on par with Marine Corps boot camp...not sure about NON Infantry MOS's, but Infantry Basic is d*mn hard. Marine Corps Boot Camp is for sure the hardest, next would be the Army, then the Navy, then the Air Force.

What defines "hardest" to you?

If it's by attrition rate it goes:

Navy

Army

Marines

air force

If you mean length then

Marines

Army

Navy or Air force

If you mean physical stress/etc then

Army

Marines

Navy

Air force

Army basic is all combat drills (meaning running around playing infantry) and getting smoked. Marine boot is a lot of classroom time and has very little combat related content. Also the amount of time marines are given for their "sleep deprived gauntlet" is the same amount of sleep soldiers are required to get for their ENTIRE basic... Not to mention our field exercise is a full week, not just 3 days like the marines'.

the air force just changed their basic around now i know its 8.5 weeks and they make them more combative makeing the recruits go everywhere with their rifle, but i went through the old days of it. i heard its a lot tougher now though. Oh and all your going to see here is a ton of Biased answers obviously no one wants to believe their branch had the easiest basic training/boot camp. but for the record the Marines are considered to have the toughest and at least the most physically demanding boot camp.

Toughest physically

1.USMC

2.USAF/ARMY

3.ARMY/USAF

4.NAVY

Toughest Mentally

1.USAF

2.USN

3.USMC

4.ARMY

Physically USMC is 1st without a doubt 2nd is a tosh up because army and air force are pretty close they both have a couple things that are unique and navy is last because they demands for physical training don't go that high as other 3. but when it comes to mental USAF is first with USN and USMC and ARMY

LOL! You've actually been through AF basic training and you actually think it's hard? Clearly you're mistaken. AF has the easiest training. USMC, ARMY, USN, USAF is the order you should have put it in.

lol af

what do you mean by "hardest"?

physically or mentally challenging, is length a factor?

taking all of these factors into account, the order would be

1USMC

2army

3Navy/air force.

i believe the navy still has stricter physical standards than the airforce, so i think it would come 3rd followed by AF.
