Question:
WEIRD questions about basic combat training that i need answers to.?

Ok i have read all the normal questions about basic combat training and my questions are more personal and about hygiene. I leave in a month and i am looking forward to army bct but i was wondering about a few things. i did national guard rsp for a few months and i could survive a weekend with there short hygiene breaks but 4 months is alot different. my questions are:
how long on average do they give u shower time and hygiene time per day or in the morning.
do u but more hygiene products at the PX?

My last ?'s are a lil bit more weird but they are serious so i am just going to ask them.

Cutting basement hair when would you honestly fine time to trim up and get neat down there after four months might get kinda gross? i try to trim up every once in a while but basic is not so private.

if there food dosent like ur stomach n u get the runs none stop how dose that fit in to basic. do u call ur self sick or just camp out in crapper.do u tell drill sgt?

sorry for being kinda blunt but thanks

Your every concern will be dealt with at basic. Hundreds of thousands have gone through it before you and survived. Stop trying to micro-manage the army.

your questions center around issues that every other recruit will have as well, so don't fret.

The Military wants you to be healthy, therefore you will be given ample time to conduct personal hygiene, heck you will even receive classes on proper personal hygiene.....now with that being said, you may not get the 30 minute showers you are use to, so learn to wash fast, and prioritize your hygiene(i.e, decide if using conditioner is worth skipping washing your butt! Ok j/k, but learn to use the little bit of planned hygiene time for whats its worth. Also, if you are particularly needy you may find your self using time you could be sleeping to get a bit more wash time...As for trimming up the basement...the only time i can think you might get that opportunity is on a lazy Sunday toward the end of the cycle when other people may be at church, there wont be any programmed time for that, but you will get some long shower time after any particularly dirty training events that you could try to take advantage of...the next problem is what you plan on using for that. Most clipper will be taken, so I would by a razor with a trimmer on the other end as a back up in case they take your trimmer.

You should bring the items on the packing list that are required in the correct quantity, but yes there will be opportunities to get to the PX for supplies, but don't expect a Wal-mart, it will be minimal and scored by all the other recruits as well.

As for emergency situations...this is the Army, not prison camp, if you need to crap...ask, in most cases you will get permission.

Yes they train too. Doctors, Firefighters and Military Police are usually the last to go overseas. But if there is a shortage of soldiers, they will be sent over also. Doctors receive Basic Training, and a few other things that don't relate to medicine.

Don't trim your pubes. If your DSG sees it while you're doing pushups naked or in a towel, he'll give you hell. (Don't ask, don't tell)

Food doesn't really give you the runs, but if it does, go to sick call.

You buy more (very rare) at the PX. You'll learn how to not buy too much but buy enough.

Showers range from 30 seconds to 2minutes.

The PX is like a department store and a drug store where you can buy most everything.

You will be able to shower everyday. If you don't, your buddies will give you one. You will be able to brush your teeth and floss.

Food is institution food. No one gets the shits.

hey man no worries alright? basic can be culture shock AT FIRST but when you start getting the hang of things, it becomes almost too easy and systematic. Leanr what you can and make sure you do it with speed and intensity.
