I'm not a picky eater, I'm just curious as to what type of food they serve in the galley at RTC since I'll be spending my 8(9) weeks there very soon!

Breakfast is the typical variety, eggs, bacon and the like. Lunch and dinner vary a lot. There will normally be a meat dish and some sides, and normally there is plenty of fruit. Just be aware, you cant talk in the galley, and you have to eat very fast. You dont have much time at all. At least it is warming up, it is incredibly hard to have to wear all the winter gear and still hike the tray around. It will suck when you have service week there too. Hope you end up in a 900 division so you wont have to.

I can't give you a cycle menu that will be available to recruits, but I can tell you one thing, that is , if the navy policy is the same as the Marine Corps. You will take everything on the menu, and you will eat everything on your plate. You throw nothing away and they watch, to see that you don't. Just like mom, don't you think?

It is going to be the same type of food you would get at the nearest Public High School cafeteria... Some times Good, Some times not so good...

Having been there, I'd imagine you'll be too tired/freakedout/busy to notice whats on your tray. And stay away from dairy products before a run.

You will recognize everything on the menu. Don't worry, you would have to be some sort of nut case not to find something you would like at any meal...
