Question:
Where can I purchase a legitimate flame thrower?

There are no government regulations restricting the ownership of flame throwers, so I would like to know where I can buy one. No, I'm not interested in some person's instructions on how to make one, nor am I interested in one of those propane powered weed burners they sell at Home Depot.

What I want is a Vietnam style, jellied fuel spraying, anti-tank/fortified bunker grade flame thrower.

Yes this is a legal item, if you do not believe me check with the B.A.T.F.E. before leaving some stupid sarcastic response.

There were three, (yes, only three) working military flame guns in civilian hands about ten years ago. (Long story, but I wanted one too)

The problem is, they were never made to last, and they all rusted away much like an old charcoal grill does. The steel air cylinders and fuel tanks also rusted badly. Even the vehicle-mounted flame guns are all gone. Someone started building replicas not to long ago. (As seen in "Saving Private Ryan") I will try to get you my old info, it's at a friends house.

I have to wonder what you'd be using it for? Considering the specific nature of the type of flame thrower you're after.

I'd be checking weapons and firearms shows for links to weapons dealers who may be able to point you in the right direction should these be available for sale to the general public.

There may not be a specific law that you could find to say that they are unlawful, they might come under something generic or the power (distance and speed of propellant) might be legislated.
