How many Scots are in the SAS?

I recently heard that the figure was as high as 75%

tbh I don't pretend to be an expert on the military, special forces, the SAS etc. My experience of the SAS is just limited to Andy McNab's books (Bravo Two Zero... Seven Troop...) - but I noticed that he mentions about 2 Scottish guys and everyone else is English.

It was said by I think Eddie Stone in one of his tv programs that the SAS at least 60% Scottish. The reason is, Scotland have the toughest non-special forces regiment in the British army: the Scots Guards. Therefore they have the ability to achieve and pass through the selection process of 'the regiment'.

Take what Andy McNab says with a pinch of salt he is a **** and the SAS hate him, Eddie Stone the guy that did SAS are you tough enough was in the SAS and he claims this figure and suppose would be well informed.

No one can give you an exact answer. After all the SAS is a special force and their operational details are kept secret.

I don't know the exact figure, sorry, but I am Scottish and I know a great deal of people in the SAS. Bearing in mind, Scotland is a LOT smaller than England, and the population is smaller too. For the amount of people in Scotland, there are a great deal in the SAS.
