USAF Can you fight a letter of reprimand?

Question

Besides a rebuttal letter, does anybody know if and how to go about this? Situation - First ever pt fail by a few seconds on the run. Passed everything else except run. Normally people get LOC's for this? The person who presented it is power hungry and she just got back from leave a day ago, I find it personal. She said since member looks too fit to fail an LOR is necessary. I know the paperwork does not follow you your career but now there is this 3 month pt program and my spouse and i are trying to get based together buy joint spouse or humanitarian move. This whole LOR will hinder that process for the next 3 months and have been separated for almost a year now. Any input? Thanks.

This makes no sense. A reprimand is discipline for misbehavior. Failing pt means your performance is not up to an acceptable level. That is not misbehavior.

Agree with Maj Kev, The Officer giving this needs to be a Commander in your spouses unit.



And FYI, it is not a Letter of Reprimand, It is a Memorandum of Reprimandl.

You might want to go see a JAG about this. Sounds hokie to me.



By the way, unless the person who presented has "Commander" or something similar to it, in her signature block, then there is no actual LOR.

How do you fail a PT test in the Airforce? Well you earned it deal with it.
